Expanding Horizon of Recruitment

Traditionally the span of traditional recruitment would cover only the sourcing of CVs and connecting them with the Employer or hiring Manager. However in modern day it is no longer the realm within which the recruitment can keep itself confined. Now the concept of "Recruitment as a Service" is gaining momentum where several allied services of recruitment are also include and valued. The industry is realizing the fact that just sourcing the CVs and connecting with the client is no longer the only outcome of the process.

 

Recruitment also include the following:

 

  1. Performing Reference checks from established referees

  2. Conducting standard aptitude, behavioral and technical tests and publishing the results

  3. Giving a virtual infrastructure (Cloud based) which can be used for conducting the interviews - like video conferencing, Ip calling and recording or arranging interviews through meeting invites to panelists and candidate

  4. Doing an intelligent mapping of the candidate to the Job requirement based on Data Sciences and Analytical processes

  5. Creating a Panel for interview by identifying freelance technology and Soft Skill Experts and supporting the companies which does not have in house panel/capability to take the interview - This is more relevant in the age of Start Ups and incredible pace at which New technologies are emerging and evolving

  6. Pre Boarding the selected candidate by sending video clips of how the team works in the new organization, individual team member's comments. Manager's comments or some goodies (Like T- Shirts, Cups, Mementoes etc. with company logo). Also connecting the candidate with certain department representative with whom he might work or interact once he comes on Board

  7. Helping the Newly joined person to settle down in the New City and New Environment by providing concierges services, information about school, Hospital etc., location directories, Rental etc.

These are some of the activities which I strongly believe should now be within the responsibilities of the Recruiter. Technology should be leveraged to a huge extent to achieve the above. Also a high level of collaboration will be required between the Recruitment, Employer and other allied services like Les Concierges, City Classifieds etc. to achieve tasks.
